Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2

Okay, picture this: me, age… let's just say "considerably younger," hunched over my PS2, controller practically glued to my hands. I'm screaming at the TV because I just know I can beat Cell if I just time that Kamehameha perfectly. Good times. But even then, I always dreamed of creating my own Saiyan warrior. Little did I know, a game like that would eventually exist, bigger and better than I could have imagined!

Fast forward to today, and we have Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2. Remember that feeling of wanting to be in the anime? This game pretty much nails it. And let's be honest, who hasn't wanted to fire off a Special Beam Cannon at least once in their lives? (Don't lie, I know you have.)

So, what’s the deal with Xenoverse 2? Well, it's an action RPG where you create your own character and jump headfirst into the Dragon Ball Z timeline. You're a Time Patroller, tasked with fixing disruptions to history. Think "What If...?" scenarios gone wild, but you get to be the hero (or villain, depending on your choices!).

Creating Your Warrior (or… Whatever You Want!)

The character creation is, frankly, amazing. You can choose from Saiyans, Namekians, Earthlings, Majins, and Frieza Race. Each race has its own strengths and weaknesses, so pick wisely! (Or, you know, just pick whatever looks the coolest. No judgment here.) Want a towering Namekian with a goofy grin? Go for it! A Saiyan with bright pink hair? Absolutely! The customization options are surprisingly deep, letting you really put your own spin on things.

Once you're happy with your creation, you're thrown into Conton City, a massive hub world teeming with other players. This is where you accept quests, train with legendary Z Fighters, and, of course, show off your sweet character design to the world. (Seriously, some of the characters I've seen are insane in the best way possible.)

Fighting & Leveling Up: The Real Deal

Combat is fast-paced and flashy, just like you'd expect from a Dragon Ball game. You'll be mastering combos, firing off energy blasts, and transforming into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (or whatever the latest form is called, I can barely keep up anymore!). It's all about timing, strategy, and knowing your character's strengths.

And, of course, there's the leveling up. As you complete quests and defeat enemies, you'll earn experience points and level up your character, improving their stats and unlocking new skills. There's a lot to grind for, so be prepared to put in some time if you want to become the ultimate warrior.

Is It Worth It?

Okay, so here's the honest truth: Xenoverse 2 isn't perfect. The story can be a bit repetitive at times, and the grinding can get tedious. But honestly? The sheer joy of creating your own Dragon Ball character and battling alongside (or against!) Goku and friends outweighs the negatives, at least for me. The community is active, the customization is deep, and the fighting is just plain fun.

If you're a Dragon Ball fan, you owe it to yourself to check this game out. Just be warned: you might lose a few hours (or days... or weeks...) to creating the perfect fighter and mastering the art of the Kamehameha. But hey, isn't that what video games are for?

Plus, they're still releasing DLC! So the game keeps getting bigger and better, which is always a good sign. What are you waiting for? Go unleash your inner Super Saiyan!
